Optional: if you are interested in participating in the Diversity and Inclusion workshop this Friday (10 am – 1 pm with free lunch), email Tatia.Granger@mason.wm.edu with a copy to Rex.Holmlin@mason.wm.edu. More details follow:
This Friday, April 12 from 10AM to 1PM, we will be holding our D&I Workshop. The key objective of the Workshop is to take all of the data we have developed over this semester and develop concrete recommendations to improve Diversity & Inclusion here at the Mason School.
Over the course of this semester we have conducted a survey and a series of focus groups concerning Diversity & Inclusion. Many of you have participated in these activities. In fact, 685 members of the Mason community completed the survey and another 98 Mason Community members participated in one of the D&I focus groups with our consultant Rhonda Bolton.
As of today, we have forty-three signed up for the Workshop on Friday. This includes:
Three (3) undergraduates
Fourteen (14) graduate students
Fifteen (15) staff
Five (5) faculty
Six (6) executive Partners
Here is the help I need: our undergraduate participation is, politely, a little low. For those of you teaching undergraduate students this semester, please take a minute in class this week and let them know about the Workshop on the 12th. If they are interested in participating, please have them contact Professor Granger (Tatia.Granger@mason.wm.edu) with a copy to me (Rex.Holmlin@mason.wm.edu). Did I mention we will provide lunch?
